Her Concord debut A Social Call received rave reviews, was nominated for a GRAMMY and enabled her to tour in Europe 2 – 3 times a year. Jazzmeia's sophomore effort entitled Love and Liberation picks up where its predecessor left off, showing growth as a singer, songwriter and bandleader. Eight of the dozen tracks are originals, accompanied by Jon Hendrix, Erykah Badu, Rachelle Farell and Jimmy van Heusen / Johnny Mercer covers. Once again pianist Victor Gould backs Jazzmeia, together with bassist Ben Williams, singer/drummer Jamison Ross, Stacey Dillard on tenor and Josh Evans on trumpet. Horn chose the title because, "Love and Liberation is a concept and mantra that I use consistently in my everyday life.
